  • Description: Mr. Panagiotis, who is the receptionist at a large hotel on Rhodes, tells the stories of guests staying in three neighboring rooms. Sofia Katrana and her daughter Vera, who have lost their property and are looking for a rich groom, stay in one room. In the room next to them is Vivi, a shipowner’s widow who doesn’t want to live alone anymore. Next to Vivi is Petros Rampou, a stone-broke Athenian looking for his salvation through a good dowry. Vera falls in love with good-looking Kostas, but her mother, who wants her to marry Petros, is not pleased. When the mother finds out that Petros is penniless, she changes her tune. Eventually, Petros accepts Vivi’s marriage proposal, thus finding the financial lifeboat he was looking for.
